HOBA

Well, here we are.  Since we last spoke, I got married, moved cross-country, and have been working pretty hard on the first semester of grad school.  As a sort of trial-by-fire, I was assigned as Assistant Scenic Artist on the first production of the semester: The House of Bernarda Alba, taking place in the most epic (and flexible) space I've certainly ever worked in.  It's been very rewarding, and I'm excited to see the end result.  We open Nov. 11 in The Modular Theater at CalArts.

My other major project for this semester is the "Big Head," which is a reproduction of just the head of a master's painting, on a 6'x6' piece of stretched muslin.  Intimidating?  Yes.  Fun?  All in all, yes.  Want to know which one I'm working on?  This one by Sandro Botticelli.  (I've been calling mine the "Big Hair" project.  Can you tell why?)

Updates later!  Contact me for details about the show, and expect photos of the "Big Head" when that's done.
